How I Survive Shoreline in Escape From Tarkov (2026 Edition)

Master the Escape From Tarkov Shoreline map with spawn-based rotations, resort entry tactics, and late-wipe PvP survival strategies.

I have run Shoreline more times than I care to admit, and let me tell you, this map still makes my heart race. It is not Factory, where everything is close and loud, and it is not Interchange, where you can duck into a store. Shoreline is wide open, covered in trees, and the river down the middle splits the whole thing into two very different worlds. The resort up north is the main prize, but the southern half is full of its own little nightmares. If you want to survive in 2026, you need more than good aim; you need a plan for how you move, when you fight, and when to just walk away.

Your Spawn Decides Your First Five Minutes

Honestly, this is the most important lesson I have learned. If I spawn north of the resort, I am moving straight to it... no hesitation. Teams that spawn north or west can quickly lock down the three-story building and turn the hallways into meat grinders. If you spawn west or southeast, you have a choice: push resort and fight an uphill battle, or rotate south toward the pier and gas station. On the west side, I usually see players hang around the cottages early and wait for Sanitar or other squads to come to them.

Early Wipe Is a Quest Party; Late Wipe Is a Warzone

The same map can feel completely different depending on the wipe. Early in a wipe, everyone is running around looking for Scav kills or task items. Pier and gas station will be crawling with player scavs and under-geared PMCs for the first thirty minutes. Late in a wipe, though... let's be real, it is all PVP. The resort and pier become hunting grounds, and extraction points turn into ambush lanes. High-tier loot rooms and Sanitar's spawn zones are where most fights pop off.

💀 The Southeast Open Fields Are a Legitimate Death Trap

If I spawn in the southeast quadrant, I do not walk through the flat land between the radar tower and weather station unless I absolutely have to. There is almost no cover, and multiple teams rotate through that exact area from different directions. You can be spotted from the hills and lit up before you know where it came from. Moving along the edge of the map is usually safer early on, even if it takes longer.

That Minefield Will End Your Run

In the southeast corner, there is a big minefield that you cannot see. Two mines and you are done. If you spawn near it, head north or northwest immediately. If you do get your legs blown off by one of those invisible terrors, use a CMS kit, heal, and carefully retrace your steps. Panicking in a minefield is how you turn a bad situation into an instant trip back to the lobby.

🎯 Know Your Resort Entrances

The resort is not a normal building; it is a maze with a bunch of hidden entry options. On the west side of the resort wall, there is a hole you can slip through to get inside the three-story structure. If I spawn north or west, that opening is my go-to. You can also shoot out the glass windows in the admin building and climb through, and the east and west hallways have their own little breach points. Knowing these is the difference between walking in safely and getting camped on a staircase.

Audio Is Only Half the Story

Let's be honest, Tarkov audio can be weird. Vertical and directional sounds inside the resort are not always reliable, so I never trust my ears completely. I use sound as a clue, then I combine it with map knowledge and some good old-fashioned paranoia. The resort is three stories of flank routes, windows, and stairwells. After enough deaths, you start to learn the common peeks and the sneaky angles players use.

Gunfire and Grenade Spam Usually Means Scav Bosses

When I hear sustained gunfire or a ton of grenades going off mid-raid, I pay attention. That noise usually means someone found Sanitar or another scav boss, or a squad is fighting over his spawn area. Each wipe can shuffle where bosses appear, so listening for those bursts is more useful than memorizing one old spot.

Weather Station and the Back Areas Are Loot Goldmines

Weather Station does not get the same attention as the resort, but it has valuable spawns and is much calmer early to mid-raid. If I spawn west, I often loot the station, village, or swamp before pushing toward the resort. It is a good way to fill a backpack without immediately fighting four different teams.

Sanitar Spawns and the Loot He Drops

Sanitar is the Shoreline scav boss, and he can spawn in a few places:

  • Cottages

  • Resort

  • Pier

The exact point is random, which keeps things interesting. He has a big health pool and always rolls with two guards. Any decent ammo can take him down, but you need to be ready for a real fight. If I do kill him, I look for the new stim, a labs card, and a key with tape. His guards often drop level five armor and a bunch of weapons, so the risk is usually worth it.

Close Quarters at the Resort, Long Lanes Down South

The resort is the PVP hotbed. If you like SMGs, shotguns, and aggressive pushes, that is your playground. But if you prefer long-range fights, the area between the power station and gas station on the south end has hills and long sightlines that reward patience. I usually pick my loadout based on where I plan to go, because bringing a bolt-action into the resort can feel like trying to snipe inside a shoebox.

Shoreline is rough, but that is why I keep coming back. Learn your spawn, avoid the open southeast when possible, listen more carefully than you trust the audio, and you might actually extract with the loot... or at least with a better story.
